Rod Mahmoudizad, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. His areas of interest include Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstruction, and cutaneous oncology.
Dr. Mahmoudizad has been serving the Houston community since completing his Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up just outside of Dallas, TX and completed his undergraduate degree in Biology and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Mahmoudizad earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his internship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
He performed his dermatology residency at Texas A&M – Baylor, Scott & White Health in Temple, TX, where he served as chief resident and was awarded the Academic Achievement in Dermatological Surgery Award. Dr. Mahmoudizad enjoys volunteering in different capacities as a dermatologist and has been involved in multiple scientific publications as well as presentations at state and national meetings. Outside of medicine, Dr. Mahmoudizad is an avid sports and history fan.
