Dr. Elise Weisert was born in Walnut Creek, California and raised in Southlake, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina, where she was a four year letter winner on the Division I swimming and diving team. She returned to Texas to attend medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, where she earned the Edgar B. Smith Dermatology Award at graduation. During this time, she also completed a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center.

 

Dr. Weisert completed her internship at HCA Houston Healthcare/University of Houston in Kingwood, followed by her dermatology residency at UTMB. There, she served as Chief Resident and received comprehensive training in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She was honored with the William Thayer Award for excellence in teaching and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. As a resident, she was selected as the first U.S. dermatologist to participate in the ISDIN/Africa Director Grant program, traveling to Mozambique to provide skin cancer screening and care for individuals with albinism. Dr. Weisert has authored many peer-reviewed publications and has presented her research at state and national dermatology conferences.

 

She has expertise in treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions from acne, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer to more complex dermatologic conditions. Dr. Weisert is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and Texas Dermatological Society.

 

Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring Houston’s vibrant culinary scene.
